Glass work art

It was discovered by 1500 BC probably unawares in ancient Mesopotamia, glass was only an  opaque material. The technique which consisted in melting  materials to obtain glass, was widespreadv in the middle east  by the 7 th century  BC.

Czech artists use the melting of granular glass in a mould, working nearly in the same manner as the sculptors in metal do. Glass in fashioned at its raw state or polished according to the teachings provided by the Hautes Ecoles du Verre (High School of Glass) in Bohemia.

The one who wants to be an expert in glass working should include the qualities of an alchemist, a sculptor, a designer, a ceramist and a chemist. This complexity can certainly explain that great Master glass artists are still so scarce in the world.
